As a Senior Admissions Consultant, Dr. Oxner is invested in helping students understand the intricate details of the admission process so they can find the colleges and universities best suited to their interests and talents.
Before coming to Spark Admissions, Dr. Oxner was the Assistant Director for Inclusive Teaching at the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, she taught writing, education, and gender studies courses, though her primary focus was creating equitable and inclusive learning experiences. She then served as an administrator in Vanderbilt University’s Writing Center and Tutoring Services, specifically coordinating the academic support offered in the Black Cultural Center and Office of LGBTQI+ Life.
Dr. Oxner earned her PhD in English from Vanderbilt University. Today, she lives with her partner and their chocolate lab, Lucy. In her spare time, Dr. Oxner loves cooking and consuming supernatural books and TV series.
